Celebration of Life for Darnell Parker

Loveland High School girls basketball coach Darnell Parker died last Sunday, July 24 after a battle with liver and colon cancer. This Saturday, Loveland High School will host a celebration of Coach Parker’s life.

“It is important for our community to come together and remember Darnell, who made such an impact on our student-athletes. The lessons he taught extended far beyond the basketball court and he will be greatly missed,” Superintendent Mike Broadwater said.

The Celebration of Life will be held in the gymnasium of Loveland High School from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday, July 30. This will be an informal open house to allow the community to gather together, remember Coach Parker and pay respects to his family. District staff will be in attendance to provide support and additional resources for our students if needed.

Special note for media planning to cover the Celebration of Life: we will allow access to only the first 15 minutes of the event, for you to capture photos and video. The rest of the event will not be open to the media to allow our community to grieve privately. Your point of contact on Saturday will be Director of Communications Andrew Setters, 513-675-6823.
