Last night, the Loveland City School District Board of Education voted to place a 4.9 mill levy before voters on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. This levy would accomplish three primary goals:

• allow us to maintain our current operations
• provide funding to bring back high school busing
• add up to five new staff members over the next three years if needed

I’m sure you have questions, and I’ve attempted to answer many of them in the above video, and in our “Levy By the Numbers” document, which you can access by following this link. It has been 8 years since Loveland City School District passed the last operating levy in 2014. If approved by voters, it would cost our Loveland property owners an additional $14 per month per $100,000 in home value. 

The process of putting a levy before the voters in our community goes through several steps. During the Board Meeting on June 6, the Treasurer and I recommended that the Board consider a 4.9 mill levy to fund our district operations. During the June 16 meeting, the Board approved the resolution of necessity, requesting the Hamilton County Auditor to certify the levy amount. During the August 2 meeting, the Board voted to take the next step, and place the levy on the ballot. 

The ultimate decision about whether the school district receives additional funding rests with the voters of our community.
