Message from our Superintendent

We are grateful for the great response to our request for feedback from district families on school reopening plans for 2020-2021. Through the survey circulated last week, we received a total of over 1900 responses that accounted for nearly 3500 Loveland students. School districts in Ohio are anticipating the release of the guidance for reopening schools very soon. Once received, we will begin adjusting our reopening plans.
The survey data will be very helpful for the planning of the reopening workgroups. As guidance is released from the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) and Hamilton County Public Health (HCPH), the workgroups will revisit the initial reopening models and make adjustments, utilizing both the guidance and the survey results. The open feedback portion of the survey also produced important information and suggestions that will be incorporated into the reopening plans. For instance, many of you expressed the desire that if a blended model must be implemented, family groupings will be taken into consideration to ensure attendance on the same days. Families also shared differing concerns about the level of restrictions and safety protocols that would be implemented as we plan to return students to the buildings in a safe manner.
We will be working throughout the month of July to ensure that all health and safety guidelines, including protocols for dealing with illness, are implemented within the individual reopening models. There will be an update at the July 15 Board of Education Special Meeting. Once all the updates have been completed and approved by the Board of Education and HCPH, families will receive a selection survey at the end of July to indicate their choice of either the approved in-person model or the online model for the 2020-2021 school year. We will continue to update you with information as it becomes available.
Thank you again for your generous feedback. In service to our Tigers,Dr. Amy Crouse, Superintendent
