The community is invited to watch computer science and technology lessons with the youngest students at Loveland Schools in February: Loveland Early Childhood Center and Loveland Primary and Elementary Schools will open their doors to visitors interested in seeing how students in Kindergarten through fourth grade are learning in “makerspaces” today.
The “maker movement” is a concept where collaborative workspaces, or makerspaces, allow students the opportunity to be creative, innovative and independent in the learning process. Through the interaction with physical objects, students become creators rather than consumers of knowledge, learning critical thinking and collaboration that prepare them for the real world by solving challenging problems.
Note that all visitors to the schools must sign in at the front entrance with a valid driver’s license.
