Friday’s weather, our schedule and Canton
Posted Thursday, December 5, 2013
I know many of you are concerned as we prepare for a potential winter storm in Loveland. Since there are some major events happening there has been some question to what the plan will be for Friday.
At this time it looks like we should be able to have school as scheduled for Friday with our early release. It looks like the accumulation will occur in the afternoon and the morning will be a mix of precipitation. We will be monitoring the situation and giving updates later this evening and early tomorrow morning. If we need to cancel school you will be notified through our alert system.
Currently it looks as if snow will begin around 12 p.m. Friday here and in Columbus. Canton is expecting some snow as well. It looks like it could be three to six inches after the storm. The good news is the snow should be finished by 8 p.m. on Friday which means roads should be clear for anyone returning from Canton. We encourage anyone traveling to use caution and make decisions that they are comfortable with for the trip. Our Loveland Tiger Football Team and cheerleaders will be in Canton Thursday evening.
Many of our students will be taking charter buses to the state final Friday. We have talked to the company and they have assured us there are no concerns on their end. The buses weigh 44,000 pounds and do well in snow. They will travel mainly on major highways.
