At Loveland Elementary School (LES), Friday, March 13, was BIG in Heidi Weber’s room: Digital Learning Day.
“It’s a pretty big deal in the tech world,” explained Weber, who teaches gifted students in her well-known Green Room at LES. “Our class officially registered on the ‘World Map’ – and you can search #DLDay on Twitter to see how big this was!”
Weber’s students each composed a Tweet of their favorite digital activity, and Weber Tweeted the ideas for the student throughout the day to help her students join in the larger social media conversation. At the end of the digital learning experience, students produced a video to promote their favorite digital learning technique.
“Not only was it fun, but the kids learned about appropriate social media use – safely – and reflected on the learning that they are doing each day,” said Weber. “I'm so proud of them!”
