LES Runners Club crosses the finish line for the year

There was excitement wrapping all around the Loveland Elementary School (LES) campus Thursday, May 28, as around 100 fourth-grade LES students took the final run of the year with the LES Runners Club. LES Teacher Andrew Price organized the students for each run after class; he said the lesson was about reaching individual goals in a team setting.
“I hope that all of the students who participated in our LES Runners Club took away a feeling of accomplishment,” said Price. “Many of the students had never tried to run longer distances before, but by the end of the year were easily running two or three miles every Tuesday and Thursday. I hope that they learned what they could do if they put their mind to it.”
Kona Ice was at the finish line to help cool the young student-athletes down, and donated part of the sales back to the school. Price said that money, combined with sales of club shirts enabled the LES Runners Club to donate a total of $252.80 to the PTA this spring.
