Weather alert system upgrade

We want to make the entire Tiger Family aware of an upgrade to our weather alert system. The district has installed a new lightning detection system at Loveland High School (LHS) and Loveland Middle School (LMS) that will operate during school, practice and game hours – protecting the LHS and LMS athletic fields.
If the system detects lightning within a 10 mile radius, a loud horn will sounds for 15 seconds, followed by a strobe light that will flash for 30 minutes. During this time, all athletic fields will be cleared. Once the system delivers three, five-second blasts – that will signal that the area is safe and playing may resume.
