Hey kids - decorate your wagons and come join Granny's Wagon Brigade as we march in the Memorial Day Parade, Monday, May 27.
Line up at the Elementary School at 8:15 a.m. You will be provided with packets of sunflower seeds to toss to the crowd. Email Granny@grannysgardenschool.org to join the fun.
Summer Harvest Program
We have more than 100 vegetable gardens that are just beginning to produce when our students leave for the summer. You are invited to join our Summer Harvest Program to help harvest the produce during the summer and maintain the garden beds so they are ready when students return in the fall.
Gardeners are assigned a group of two-four pre-planted 3' x 10' garden beds (You may select the location of your group of beds.) It requires a commitment of one-two hours a week depending on if you have two beds or four.
Gardeners are expected to keep the beds free of weeds and will be asked to plant a small amount of seeds and plants that we will provide. We take care of watering but are open to working out an arrangement with someone who has time to take on this responsibility.
You may harvest the produce that is ready each week; keep it for your own use, share with friends or choose to donate part or all to the food pantry. The package includes picking a bouquet of flowers each week.
We plan breakfast in the gardens June 1 for gardeners to get to know each other and another in August to wrap up the season. For more information and to register...
