Have you heard of Mallet Madness?
If the group is new to you, you need to check them out!
“Currently, this ensemble is the only one of its kind in this area,” said Michele Henn, LES music teacher and co-director of Mallet Madness. “Mallet Madness is an advanced percussion group of select fourth grade students at Loveland Elementary School. The group – now in its fourth season – plays complicated pieces for xylophone, drum, accessory percussion, and recorder.”
You can catch the next percussion extravaganza 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at the LES gym, as the students perform an end-of-the-year celebratory concert. If you want a preview of the fun, check out this video of a previous performance.
“This ensemble is one to see,” said Jennifer Forren, LES principal. “This is a dedicated group of students – they arrive before school three days a week to rehearse – and it really shows when they take the stage; we invite all of the community to come experience their talent.”
