They brought home 32 awards from the Ohio Scholastic Media Association, now they have a Presidential Commendation to hang on the wall. Ohio Senate President Keith Faber presented the Loveland High School (LHS) student newspaper, The Roar, with the honor. The letter states, “The students involved with The Roar have set an example worthy of emulation, and their accomplishments are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on them but also on their school and on the community.”
“I appreciate the recognition given by the Ohio Senate,” said Neil Schmidt, LHS journalism teacher. “I know how seriously these students approach the process of creating a strong newspaper, and it's wonderful to see their efforts validated.”
"I'm proud of the staff for being recognized for all its hard work and teamwork," said Jenna Myklebust, The Roar student editor.
