Early Release Dates for 2016-17 School Year
Posted Thursday, September 1, 2016
The Loveland City School District wants to inform the Tiger Family of some intentional calendar adjustments that will take place during the course of this (2016-17) school year. These will take the form of a two-hour early dismissal on the following dates: October 21, November 18, March 3 and March 24. These dates correspond with the end of the first quarter, first trimester, second trimester, and third quarter. The goal of this initiative is to give teachers dedicated time to analyze and report student data, update parents on student progress, and collaborate on instructional strategies based on this information that ensure optimal student growth.
“The decision to build in this time for our teachers all ties back to the ‘big three’ district goals that Superintendent Chad Hilliker outlined at the start of the school year - Growth, Innovation and Care,” said Keith Koehne, assistant superintendent of human resources. “The goals are our promises that we are all making to the students and families of this school district; we know that promises take an investment to make sure that they are kept.”
Each building will handle modified schedules for the early release days, and specifics will be communicated to parents by buildings. Please contact your building principal directly with any questions.
