LPS Science Day

He is not your typical Loveland Primary School (LPS) science teacher, but students gave him full attention all the same. Friday, March 21, Professor Gizmo and the Fun & Science Show hosted an interactive assembly to celebrate LPS Science Day – a Loveland Elementary PTA-sponsored treat for the children.
“This is a creative exercise in science study,” said Kevin Fancher, LPS principal. “After the assembly, students spent the rest of the day with LPS teachers presenting hands-on science activities. We studied refraction, static electricity, friction and Newton’s First Law of Motion, buoyancy, and chemistry – which included a very popular ‘make your own soda’ session.”
Professor Gizmo and the Fun & Science Show was part of the annual Science Day event at LPS. Topics change each year as does the assembly/show.
“The shows rotate each year, and are a fantastic way to kick off Science Day,” said Fancher. “We really appreciate the PTA support to keep this interactive style of science instruction at LPS.”
