The Community Conversation continues: State Assessments
Posted Monday, November 9, 2015
The Tiger spirit was evident the evening of October 26, when around 40 people braved less than ideal weather conditions to join myself and Dr. Amy Crouse on that rainy evening for a conversation centered around better understanding our state assessments. What was evident to me was the true passion our parents have for the education of our students – it is a passion that is shared by our teachers, our administrators and our staff. I sincerely thank every person who was able to attend the meeting. We appreciate the discussion that took place.
I have spent the time since that meeting pondering some of the questions the group presented, and, along with Dr. Crouse, I have compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) that came from that Community Conversation to share with the entire Tiger Family. You will find that attached here. In addition to the FAQ, we have given you some thoughts about what we collectively should be continuing to advocate for, and we have provided a list of state leaders for you to contact.
Here is a direct link for much of the information that was shared that evening as provided by the Ohio Department of Education: 2015-16 State Testing Information
As we move closer to state assessment time, I encourage you to allow your student to participate in the tests. If you have any additional questions, I ask that you please contact me directly.
Dedicated to the future of our children,
