Follow your path
Posted Monday, June 5, 2017
Saturday, June 3, we gathered together to celebrate the Class of 2017; parents and siblings, administrators and staff members, and teachers and friends sat at Xavier University’s Cintas Center and experienced the final moment these amazing young people will have as Loveland High School (LHS) students. It is on their graduation that I take this opportunity to share with the entire Tiger Family some final thoughts I had on their departure:
Class of 2017, you will always be a special to me. I have seen many of you grow from kindergartners to the young adults you are today. Throughout your journey you have cared for each other, supported one another, and created a legacy for other students to look to aspire to while at LHS. Today my message is a simple one to you, Class of 2017: Follow your path.
You have had plenty of practice following your path while at Loveland. This district is the place where you started to explore new interests, make friends and learn. Although you might not have been thinking about it – all the while you were developing your future.
You never gave up.
You have taught me the value of giving it your all. Whether in the classroom, on the stage, in robotics competitions, during a concert, or on the athletic field, you gave 100 percent. School hasn’t always been easy, but each of you worked hard to get to the finish line. There are times where things may have stopped the path you were on, but you found a way to overcome the obstacles, develop a new plan and continue on.
You have followed a path that has provided many memories that will last forever. As a class you have always exhibited a great sense of pride. You have given your time and talent to help others – never stop. The path you follow from here will lead you to places, people, and opportunities that we can only imagine. You are an amazing group of people destined for great things. You know it will not always come easy, there will be challenges to face, but never give up. Remember that you always have people who are there to support you, offer you encouragement and celebrate your journey.
I have been blessed to have been on part of the journey with you. You have taught me what it means to be a good friend, care about our community and celebrate the moment. While we all want a path that leads us to success, we realize that the success will not always be seen by many. Many paths lead to ways to help others that do not require an audience or groups of people to see. Follow your path, even though you are not sure where it will lead. Hold your head high, enjoy the moment, have no regrets for you are – and always will be – our Tigers.
To you – all of you – I want to express my deepest gratitude for allowing me to be the educational leader of this great district. My personal path has brought tremendous blessings, and I’m thankful that I’ve had the opportunity to serve you and call Loveland my home.
Dedicated to the future of our students,
