A colorful day of science

Loveland Early Childhood Center (LECC) kindergarten students enjoyed a colorful approach to science Friday, April 19, at the ROY G BIV Science Day (the name stands for the color order of the rainbow). The day is bursting with vibrant activities centered on the rainbow and color. Teachers work with students on mixing the primary colors to make all the colors of the rainbow.
“Mr. Steve Federman, a science teacher from Loveland Intermediate School, played the role of ROY G BIV, as he does for us every year,” said Kyle Bush, LECC principal. “He did some color-based science experiments in front of the kids, and they were captivated. We really appreciated his help with this special day.”
The school also received assistance through a grant from PPG Industries obtained by a parent who works at the coatings and specialty products company; the grant money was used to purchase Pinch and Mix, an activity that blends primary colors together.
“The mix turned out to be a big success with the students,” said Bush. “They just loved it. Each student got to take their mix bag home. We really appreciate this generous donation.”
