An ocean of creativity

Around 500 parents, students and community members got quite a surprise Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the Loveland Early Childhood Center (LECC) Fine Arts Night celebrating first grade. Student performers went under the sea to put on the musical Go Fish! – and they weren’t alone. LECC Principal Kyle Bush made a surprise cameo, playing the part of the Great White Shark.
“It's always great fun,” said Bush. “To be out there on stage – in character – with our students was an absolute treat. I believe part of teaching is leading by example, and this was an opportunity for me to really interact with the kids in a way that will be memorable for them. It’s also a moment I won’t soon forget!”
In addition to acting in the musical, the students also created all the art for their backdrop; the entire school was decorated in an ocean theme. The fine arts production was one of the many activities planned for "Right to Read" week.
