The Special Olympics Hamilton County (SOHC) honored Loveland High School (LHS) student Drew Anderson Friday, April 19, with the Ethel Luken Dedication Award for his Special Olympics participation, good sportsmanship and hard work both on and off the field. Molly Swaine, LHS teacher, nominated Anderson.
“Drew has a great attitude,” said Swaine. “He participates in volleyball, track and field, and bowling. In addition, he works four days a week in the community, and he brings joy to others on a daily basis. Drew tries his best in all he does, and he is a great role model. I feel he is very deserving of this award.”
The award is given in honor of Ethel Luken who was the executive director of SOHC for 19 years. The award was presented at the Spring Sports Showcase, which was held at the Cincinnati Sports Mall.
