Technology
-
Across the Loveland City School District, our team of technology support specialists provides assistance for teachers, staff, and students as they implement technology resources in the classroom for teaching and learning. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our team and they would be more than happy to provide assistance.
Our Wireless Networks
-
LCSD_Tiger
This network is available to all Loveland City School District-owned devices, students, and staff. This includes student and teacher Chromebooks, tablets, and laptops provided by the district. The password is kept private and is distributed to all district machines through policy.
-
LCSD_StudentBYOD
This network is available to all students “bring your own” registered learning devices (excluding student phones) at LMS and LHS. The password will be made available to all students, but only those registered devices will be able to connect as we will register all student learning via the device’s MAC address.
-
LCSD_Private
This network is available to teachers, staff, and presenters for a variety of reasons, including wireless mirroring, staff personal devices, and presenters needing access to a robust connection. The private password will be known among faculty and staff but will be changed routinely to keep clear of any unnecessary traffic.
-
LCSD_Public
This network is available to all visitors and students to access on their personal devices while visiting any building or school on our campus. The bandwidth allocated to this network will be limited, as bandwidth priority will be provided to student learning machines connected to the above networks.
Acceptable Use Policy
-
When connecting to the Internet at Loveland City Schools, you are agreeing to abide by the Loveland Schools Acceptable Use Policy which prohibits abusive or illegal activity while using the Internet. Personal devices connecting to the district’s wireless network are subject to the same filtering that is enforced during the school day on all student and staff devices while on our network. Please note that any personal student device that can access a cellular network data plan (ie. - 4G plans) is able to bypass the Internet filter provided by the school’s service.
Please direct any additional questions or concerns regarding the Loveland City School District’s wireless internet connection to John Lape, IT Systems Administrator at lapejo@lovelandschools.org or (513) 683-5600.

Securly Parent Portal
-
With Chromebooks becoming an essential part of classroom instruction we want you to know that Loveland City Schools monitors what sites students are visiting and what content they’re searching for on school-issued devices.
We use a service called Securly, which alerts our district IT staff of questionable activities on school-issued devices, and provides the opportunity for follow-up if needed. This is covered in your technology agreement completed at the start of the school year.
Securly also provides a parent portal, which allows parents the ability to monitor their child’s online activity on their school-issued device. We are now making this available for parents to use at no cost. You can sign up for the Securly Parent Portal by following this link and completing a brief form.
To learn more about the services that the Securly Parent Portal offers, follow this link. If you have questions, please contact our district IT Systems Administrator John Lape at lapejo@lovelandschools.org
