The Loveland City School District is announcing three staffing changes for the 2026-27 school year. Dr. Amanda Robinson, the current Assistant Principal of Loveland Middle School, will become LMS Principal.
“As an assistant principal, I’ve gotten to work very closely with students and their families, and it is truly work I love doing each and every day. So while there will be some shifts in my responsibilities, I am very excited to continue to lead Loveland Middle School,” Dr. Amanda Robinson said.
Robinson has served as the Assistant Principal of Loveland Middle School since 2021. She previously served as Assistant Principal at Middletown Middle School, and as Assistant Athletic Director and Dean of Students at Northwest High School. With Robinson moving to the principal role, the Loveland City School District has hired Mike Simich as the new Assistant Principal of Loveland Middle School.
"I am honored to join the leadership team at Loveland Middle School. I look forward to partnering with Dr. Robinson and our dedicated staff to support the continued excellence of the Tiger family. Together, we will remain focused on providing an environment where every student can thrive and succeed," Mike Simich said.
Simich has been the assistant principal of St. Bernard-Elmwood Place Junior/Senior High School since 2025. He was also a social studies teacher at Princeton High School and Taft Information Technology High School. His hiring was approved by the Loveland City School District Board of Education at their April 21 Business Meeting.
These two administrative staffing changes have come about because the current Loveland Middle School Principal, David Knapp, is leaving his position at the end of this school year. He has been hired as the Chief Innovation Officer for the Mason City School District.
“We wish David the best, and know that he’ll do an outstanding job for the Mason community. We are fortunate to have Dr. Robinson ready to take the lead at Loveland Middle School, and excited that Mike Simich is becoming a Loveland Tiger,” Superintendent Mike Broadwater said.
