Loveland City School District Announces Administrator Changes

Loveland City School District is announcing three staffing changes for the 2026-27 school year. Julie Carter, current Loveland Intermediate School Principal, will become the district’s new Director of Special Education. In this new role, she will support students and staff across the district under Executive Director of Student Services, Jesse Kohls.

“I am honored to step into this new role and begin collaborating with our dedicated staff and families across the entire district. I am deeply committed to ensuring we meet the individualized needs of every student through collaboration and strategic support,” Julie Carter said.

Carter has served as the principal of Loveland Intermediate School since 2021. She was the assistant principal for 4 years, and previously served as Special Education Supervisor in West Clermont Schools for 9 years. With Carter moving to a central office role, current Loveland Intermediate School Assistant Principal John Hart will take over as the building’s principal.

“I am incredibly excited to step into this new role. I am grateful to have worked with this amazing group of people for the past five years, and to have the opportunity to continue to be a part of this team is awesome,” John Hart said.

Hart has been the assistant principal of Loveland Intermediate School since 2021. He was a math teacher at Loveland High School, Middletown High School, and Springfield High School. With Hart moving to the Loveland Intermediate School Principal role, Kristen Overbeck will join Loveland Intermediate School as assistant principal, pending Board approval.

“I’m beyond excited to become a Tiger and step into this new chapter with such an incredible community. My passion for 5th and 6th grade runs deep, and I can’t wait to build meaningful relationships and grow together every day,” Kristen Overbeck said.

Overbeck has been Assistant Principal of Little Miami Primary School since 2025, and has over a decade of experience as a special education teacher in the Sycamore Community School District.

“We are fortunate to have a roster of talent in the district when we need to fill positions, and to be able to attract great candidates, too. I’m excited to see Julie and John in their new roles, and to welcome Kristen into the Loveland family,” Superintendent Mike Broadwater said.
