Revised Academic Content Standards

Specifically, the Board adopted the Common Core State Standards for English/LA and math, and state-developed standards for science and social studies. For more information go to the following link: Academic Content Standards.

Literacy Framework, K-6

The Loveland Schools’ Literacy Framework establishes what we want our literacy program to be in grades K-6. The Framework is designed to improve the reading, writing, and language skills of elementary students in Loveland Schools. The cornerstone of this fluid document is to establish a common and consistent approach to literacy learning that is aligned vertically and horizontally among grade levels. The goal of this comprehensive effort is to significantly raise the level of literacy achievement of all students.

Literacy by Design

Loveland School District is implementing a new core reading program in grades K-4 in the 2010-11 school year. Literacy by Designwas chosen because it embodies our Literacy Frameworkand provides important developmental instruction for all students. Literacy by Design provides instruction across whole class, small group, and independent reading and has a focus on comprehension. Click here for an overview of Literacy by Design.
