Loveland
Middle School educates approximately
700 students in seventh and eighth
grade. In addition to a strong curriculum
with accelerated coursework and foreign
language, there are diverse extracurricular
options. Loveland Middle School has
strong athletics, musical groups,
drama productions, and academic clubs.
Loveland Middle School is a caring
community that stresses the qualities
of the TIGERS theme: teamwork, integrity,
generosity, excellence, respect, and
success. One of our main goals as
a middle school is to help our students
develop into responsible young adults.
Grading
Scale
Grades at Loveland Middle School come
from homework, quizzes, tests, projects,
and/or class participation. The following
grading scale is used: A: 93-100;
B: 85-92; C: 77-84; D: 70-76; F: 0-69.
Teams
At Loveland Middle School all students
are assigned to teams. A team consists
of a number of students assigned to
a group of teachers for all their
core academic subjects. Team
teachers will meet together to plan
activities, coordinate curriculum,
and conference with parents, students,
and/or administration.
Homework
Homework is an integral part of schooling.
Daily planners have been given to
each student and they are expected
to keep all assignments in this planner.
This is the best communication tool
between home and the classroom.
Edline
Access to student grades, assignments, and other information is available through Edline. After activating an Edline account, parents use a username and private password to view their child's grades and assignments. Calendar events, daily announcements, and other important information is communicated through Edline as well. All parents are encouraged to activate their Edline accounts at the beginning of the school year.
Honor
Roll
Students who have earned a 3.0 average
for the quarter are named on the Honor
Roll. Students with a 3.8 average
are named for the High Honor Roll.
Student
of the Month
Each month, teachers select students
for their outstanding effort, achievement,
citizenship, and/or creativity. The
student and his/her parents are invited
to a reception to celebrate their
accomplishments.
Pizza
with the Principal
Students are nominated by their teachers
to attend this special lunch, which
allows us to recognize students who
have been examples of those who exhibit
the qualities of our TIGERS theme.
