Loveland High School (LHS) congratulates Junior Sam Smith, Junior Stone Taul and Senior Jon Parker for earning five awards for their short film Tunnels at the 2016 Cincinnati Teen Film Challenge. Tunnels won Best Cinematography, Best Director, Best Editing, Best Actress and runner-up for Best Film. Tunnels deals with several teen issues including suicide awareness.
The Underground in Cincinnati hosted a red carpet gala and awards ceremony showcasing 24 films on August 20.
Started in 2015, the Teen Film Challenge is a competition exclusively for teens between the ages of 13-18. Teens assemble their own filmmaking teams for the competition. The teams draw a genre and a title for their film. They have 72 hours to write, film, edit and complete a 6-minute short film. Teams compete for cash and prizes.
Smith, Taul and Parker are founding members of the LHS Film Club.
