LMS Partners Club
Meet Candice and Pat Paolino – Loveland Middle School (LMS) parents who not only believe EVERYONE matters – they created a club for students to join with that motto – the LMS Partners Club.
“It’s about creating social opportunities for any student,” explained Candice Paolino. “It’s about developing positive and meaningful relationships with peers.
“We get together for once-a-month, low-key social activities that include things like tailgating as a group for a Loveland High School football game, scavenger hunts, movies and ice cream socials.”
Hand-in-hand the Paolinos worked with LMS Assistant Principal Jayson Bruce, teachers Carol Huxhold, Rachel Angel, Anita Winning, Kim Hicks, and Counselor Kim Shafer to make the dream of the LMS Partners Club a reality. Now, in its second year, the club boasts a membership of more than 40, and is receiving applications weekly.
“There are a lot of kids out there who struggle with social connections,” said Paolino. “Whatever the reason is – some may be new to the area, some may be shy, and some may have disabilities – their struggle is the same. However, there are also compassionate student-leaders at LMS! Students who want to help and are OK stepping outside their comfort zone to help include others. What a wonderful combination this has been! That is what this club is all about – creating social opportunities to help develop a sense of belonging. The beauty is that everyone benefits from this partnership!”
“The LMS Partners Club positively impacts all students by providing an opportunity for all students to develop meaningful social relationships outside of the classroom and school,” said Carol Huxhold, LMS teacher and club sponsor.
The LMS Partners Club is open to any middle school student. To join, or to find out how you can help support the mission, please contact Lovelandpartnersclub@gmail.com or visit the club’s Facebook page “Loveland Partners Club.”
