It was an open mic event at Loveland Primary School (LPS) Wednesday, May 15 as second-grade students took turns sharing their poetry creations.
“This was the first annual Poetry Café for my class,” explained Jennifer Hilton, LPS second-grade teacher. “The students have spent the year learning Haiku, pattern, sensory, color and word poems; I encouraged them to select their favorite work and read it to an audience of fellow classmates and family members.”
Refreshments helped complete the café atmosphere.
“This was a great opportunity for parents to get a chance to see the creative learning that takes place in the classroom,” said Hilton. “A good time was had by all!”
