Last day of school for Loveland City School District Tuesday, June 10
The Loveland City School District wants to make the Tiger Family aware that the final day of class for students will be Tuesday, June 10. In addition, Loveland Intermediate School (LIS) and Loveland Middle School (LMS) students will have a Blizzard Bag Day Two assignment Friday, April 18, to make up the extra calamity day those students had earlier in the school year.
LIS and LMS teachers will print and provide all of the students the Friday, April 18, Blizzard Bag assignments by Monday, April 14. The assignments will be due two weeks after Friday, April 18, on Friday, May 2.
“This has been an unusual winter for our district, and our state,” said Loveland Superintendent Chad Hilliker. “By initiating the second Blizzard Bag on a day when the district does not have class, we are able to get all of our buildings on the same schedule – so all of our students will have a final day of June 10.”
The state legislature did approve four additional calamity days for schools across the state with the stipulation that districts use four contingency plan days before they could use the additional days. Loveland’s contingency plan has always been to make up any additional days at the end of the school calendar. The district has missed eight school days (except LIS and LMS – those buildings have missed nine days). The district will need to make up two contingency days.
The plan was presented to and approved by the Board of Education at the monthly Business Meeting Thursday, March 20.
