LPS uses fundraising money to purchase student resources
It was a grand total that added up to a significant resource purchase.
Loveland Primary School (LPS) raised nearly $5,000 from magazine sales this year. That amount added to a $2,000 Duke Energy grant the school earned in November, along with a PTA donation of $750 provided nearly $8,000 in funds to spend.
“We used the money to purchase leveled books (student books),” said LPS Principal Kevin Fancher. “These leveled books will be sent home with students for nightly reading homework practice and will be part of our existing Targeted Homework Reading Intervention for the building. Our goal is to have individualized homework for all students at their level.”
Each classroom teacher will receive a leveled book set to use as a homework resource with students.
“We are excited to have this addition to grow this practice within the building and to see our students benefit from targeted homework practices,” said Fancher.
