Loveland Music Boosters announce 2015-16 Maegly Music Scholarship Winners
Loveland Music Boosters announce 2015-16 Maegly Music Scholarship WinnersThe Loveland Music Boosters presented Loveland High School (LHS) students Quinn Caney and Margaret Eilert with the 2015-16 Maegly Music Scholarship Award for their outstanding musical talent and music program participation.

Caney, a sophomore at LHS, is a member of the Marching Band, Wind Ensemble and Jazz Orchestra and plans to use the scholarship to take additional private music lessons on both the trumpet and the trombone. Eilert, a junior at LHS, is a member of the Chamber Orchestra and Loveland Show Choir “By Request” and “Allure” groups. She is also taking classes in guitar and AP Music theory to broaden her musical skills, and intends to use the scholarship to attend a performing arts camp this summer called Show Choir Camps of America.

The Music Boosters established the Maegly Music Scholarship Award to honor Mr. Bruce Maegly by recognizing his 35-year contribution to developing the musical talents and enthusiasm of generations of Loveland students.

“This scholarship continues the legacy of Mr. Bruce Maegly,” said Traci Scarpa, Loveland Music Booster president. “The Boosters wish Quinn and Margaret every success as they continue to develop their musical skills and look forward to seeing the results of their hard work in the coming years.”

The Maegly Music Scholarship Award
The Loveland Music Boosters awards up to two $500 scholarships from the Maegly Music Scholarship fund annually to deserving high school students (grades 9-12) to foster their musical development. Award recipients use the funds to offset the costs of individual musical instruction, including private music lessons or special musical performance learning opportunities (musical camps, master classes, seminars). Award recipients are selected based upon several factors including music program participation, academic achievement, musical skill and development potential, and financial need. Evaluation of award applications and selection of recipients is made by a selection committee comprised of Loveland School District Music Department staff and the Loveland Music Boosters.
