A delicious act of kindness
Second-grade students at Loveland Primary School (LPS) fixed sweet treats Wednesday, Feb. 13, for the Loveland Food Pantry, decorating and wrapping up dozens of cookies parent volunteers baked at home to send for the special classroom assignment.
“This was a lesson in kindness,” said Dede Gardis, LPS second-grade teacher and organizer of the project. “I’m so thankful for the parent volunteers who helped make this activity a success. The students were proud of their creations, and they understood they were doing something that would benefit people who would really appreciate their efforts.”
Gardis delivered the six dozen cookies (about 20 plates) in time for the Loveland Food Pantry to distribute the white-icing, red-sprinkle surprises just in time for Valentine’s Day.
