The Loveland Schools Child Nutrition Department is putting on a workshop for children and families called “Power Up and Healthy Eating” on Wednesday, April 7, from 6-8 pm in the Loveland Intermediate School Cafeteria.
The Power Up and Healthy Eating Workshop, funded by a grant from the Ohio Department of Education, is designed to let parents know how to “power up” their children with healthy meals and physical activity. Free child care and a healthy snack will be provided.
Families will…
· learn about the school lunch program and how it can be a part of a healthy diet for their children
· how to use MyPyramid and portion sizes to prepare family meals that fit within their budget.
· receive a free cookbook and bag of health-related goodies.
Children are invited to attend and participate in a program for kids about nutrition and enjoy physical activity led by Loveland physical education teachers. There will also be door prizes including a Body Bugg, pedometers, steel water bottles, aprons, memo tablets and pens. There is no cost for the workshop, but reservations are required.
For more information or to sign up for the workshop, contact the Child Nutrition Office at 774-6225. Reservations must by in by April 5. Please park in the back lot behind LIS and enter door #8 or door #4.
