Red Ribbon Week Celebrated

During the week of October 22, the Loveland Middle School’s Explorers Team hosted a Red Ribbon celebration event with a week of fun-themed activity days.  For about 20 years, Red Ribbon Week has been used by educators and community leaders to teach children and youth to say no to drugs and yes to healthy lifestyles.

Students took part in a variety of activities during the week from wearing a red piece of clothing to dressing as their favorite super hero for the theme of that day “Super Heroes Don’t Do Drugs.”  On the last day of the special week, a contest was held to decorate a door to support an anti-drug theme.  Ms. Kathy Simpson’s Tiger Time students won the 7th grade door decorating contest and Ms. Christin Carrell’s Tiger Time students won the 8th grade contest.

The week’s events were coordinated by Mrs. Nancy McCoy, Loveland Middle School 8th grade Health and Wellness teacher.
