More About Loveland Intermediate School
Loveland Intermediate School has approximately 700 fifth and sixth graders and is connected to the middle school, allowing for an easy transition to the next grade level. The building philosophy is for all students to be successful at the highest level within a flexible learning environment. Student achievement is the primary concern, and students are offered many curricular and extra-curricular opportunities including: band, strings and choir, student council, runner’s club, and ecology club. Character education is also an important component of our curriculum and includes activities focused on monthly character qualities such as honor, truthfulness, generosity, and forgiveness. The district also has Edline, a web-based application that allows parents to view student grades and assignments as well as class-specific web pages with assignment descriptions.
There are 14 fifth grade and 14 sixth grade teachers. Specialists on staff include two art teachers, two band instructors, one music and strings instructor, one choir director, two physical education/wellness teachers, one media specialist, two gifted and talented teachers, and an instructional technology specialist. Special education staff includes an L.D. teacher, D.H. teacher, two L.D. tutors, two L.D. aides, and an MH aide. Support staff includes a nurse, health aide, speech therapist, school psychologist, and guidance counselor.
The Loveland community is very supportive of our children and the schools. Parents can volunteer and get involved in the school in numerous ways:
We meet the second Wednesday of every month in the Media Center, alternating day and evening meetings.
The Loveland M/INT (Middle/Intermediate) PTSA supports both the Loveland Middle School (LMS) and the Loveland Intermediate School (LIS) in the Loveland City School District, covering two schools on one campus with students in grades 5 through 8.
The PTSA helps in numerous different ways, including:
- Funding Field Trips and other in-house activities such as the Science Day
- Creating the Student Directory
- Providing Teacher Endowments
- Sponsoring a Positive Rewards program for middle school students
- Supporting the PTA Reflections Program
