When vacancies are known or anticipated, the Personnel Office will work with the building Principal to identify the criteria for staffing each position. Vacancies are advertised on the bulletin boards of district buildings, the district web site, universities, etc…
All applications will be maintained in the personnel office, where they will be reviewed and screened. Preliminary interviews may be scheduled as an additional screening tool for anticipated openings. To be considered for such an interview, application materials must be completed and on file in the personnel office.
Some applicants will be invited to participate in job interviews for specific positions. The job interview will usually take place in the building where the position exists and will involve the Principal and possibly other staff members. The top candidate(s) will be recommended by the building administration to the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. All applicants who participate in a job interview will be notified as to whether or not they are selected for a position.
Selection and Hiring
References will be checked before anyone is offered a position. Prior to presenting the successful candidate’s name to the Board of Education for hiring, the candidate will interview with the Director of Human Resources and review employment requirements. Applications of those candidates who are not recommended for hiring will be held in our active file for future vacancies.
