This web site has loads of info on soil including its composition, the different layers, different types of soil, and what organisms live in soil. There is even a game where you explore the underground in a microscopic ship to see everything you learned up close.

This web site has a 14-part lesson on rocks, minerals, the rock cycle, types of rocks, and more. Each page has a good explanation and colorful pictures. At the end is a quiz.

Soil Formation

This web site teaches about soil composition, formation, and composting, then privides interactive quizzes for each section.

Rocks and Soils

At this interactive web site you can experiment with five different rocks to test if they float, wear well, split, and absorb water. You then can learn about common uses of each rock because of its properties. When done you can take a quiz on what you learned.

This is a very extensive website plant life. Students join Bud, Sprout, and Detective LePlant in solving mysteries and learning all about plants. This site has good information, cute graphics, quizzes, and activities. Case #2 deals specifically with soil.
