In this i-plan, students explore the relationship between pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. They count sets of mixed coins, write story problems that involve money, and use coins to make patterns. A sample of books for children relevant to this topic can be found in Appendix A at the end of the unit. Cross-curricular connections to art, science, and social studies are included in this set of lessons.
