A.  Analyze structures of documents and critique them to determine       devices used by the writer to accomplish purpose and       effectiveness (e.g., essays).

B.  Recognize invalid reasoning in persuasive writing (e.g., essay).

1.   Analyze the rhetorical devices used in public documents,       including newspaper editorials and speeches.

      unsupported inferences, fallacious reasoning, propaganda       techniques, bias and stereotyping.
