PAWS

PAWS

PAWS (Promoting an Attitude of Wellness in Schools) is the Loveland Schools Health Advisory Committee. The group members include teachers, nurses, school psychologists, board members, parents, community members, and various administrative team personnel. This committee’s focus is on the holistic health of the students and staff including, but not limited to, the bio-psycho-emotional-social needs of all. The following are just some of the topics which PAWS has worked to address:

  • Health curriculum
  • Bullying
  • School safety survey
  • Staff wellness
  • Wellness policy
  • Pandemic flu plan
  • Active for life
  • Drug, alcohol, and substance abuse
  • Character education

PAWS continues to discuss, plan, and implement ideas on an ongoing basis. The group meets every other month throughout the school year starting in September of each year. If you have an interest in being a part of this group or any questions, please feel free to leave a message on the nurses’ voicemail at 677-7973.
